My husband is an alcoholic. I am 26 and married 8 years with two kids. He won't talk to me. He seems to have lost interest in me. I found out that he has been talking to my friends about all his buddies wives and rating them...... I am at my wits end... Help me please...

Rating them? That's a new one on me, but alcoholics can come up with the darndest things.

Call ALANON today and find out when the next meeting is, and go to it. The also have ALATEEN for children of alcoholics. This wonderful organization will give you and your children tons of support and help you understand what he is doing and how it is affecting your lives.

Your husband probably hasn't lost interest in you. You are fed up with his drinking and rather than try to fix the problem, he has found someone that listens to his booze talking without giving him a bad time about it. The buddy's wives that get the highest ratings are probably the ones that aren't married to alcoholics and they work together to make their marriages work.

Until he recognizes that he has a drinking problem and is willing to do something about it, he will continue to find conversation elsewhere.
